Swimming Pool & Spa Heating

A swimming pool is a major financial investment. To get the most for your money, you should use your pool as much as possible. That’s why it makes sense to keep your pool at a comfortable swimmable temperature for the maximum number of hours in each day and the maximum number of days in each year.
The ideal temperature for leisure swimming is around 25 to 26 degrees Celsius. This temperature is very rarely achieved naturally – for most of the swimming season, the water temperature hovers around 18 to 20 degrees. Most of the warmth gained during the day is lost overnight, leaving the pool cold again in the morning.
There are three basic types of pool heating systems: solar, gas and heat pumps. Which is best for your pool? There are many factors to consider, including your requirements, budget, location, tariffs, operation and physical layout of your premises. Each system can be installed at the time of construction or added later and they are compatible with most types of recirculation systems.
- Reduce salt and chemical use by up to 50%
- Warm your pool by up to 8ºC
- Reduce evaporation by 97%
- Help keep out leaves and dirt
- Made stronger to last longer
A solar pool blanket can help you save energy and scarce water resources. It will harness the power of the sun to keep your water warmer for longer, and help prevent evaporation – one of the principal causes of water literally “disappearing” from your swimming pool.
